FINAL VERSION
After viewing Shawné's website, I noticed that there were a lot of "glitch" effects, blurred elements, dark images, and splashes of red. I wanted to use these elements in my poster, but in a way that wasn't a direct grab from the website. Since this was for a lecture, I needed the poster to represent Shawné, but not pull specifically from a piece of work she had done.
The black text at the top plays with readability, strengthening the blurred and shadowed effects. I used the typeface and repetitive placement of the text to play off of the "technologic" feel of her work, replicating lines of text one might find in coding and a typeface associated with computer screens.
The background was created using a photo of blurred lights, which I then layered over the same image in different positions. To finalize the background, I experimented with multiple colors and blend effects to achieve the perfect mysterious look I was hoping for.
