An important aspect of this brief was to stay away from any visual elements of Kimi's work. Due to the political topics addressed in her work, the use of her designs may misrepresent the original meaning.

This gave me the opportunity to use this brief to experiment with type and type as imagery.  I used the canvas as a boundary, shaping and distorting the letters to fit seamlessly into the poster. While readability is important, I wanted to challenge the viewer enough to spend time with the piece in order to gain all of its information.

After much time spent with color, I landed on a black and off-white version of the design. Although Kimi's color choices usually revolve around reds and purples, I wanted to create a piece that was void of color, allowing the focus to be on the type lockup and not lost in a complex array of color and gradient.
